What Is Top Finished Leather?

Top finished leather is leather that has a sealed finish. There are several ways to recognise this type of leather.

1. Has a solid, even colour with a matt or semi-gloss sheen. Almost like a vinyl looking finish.

2. If antiqued like the first 2 examples below, it will have a shine to it.

Have a look at the examples below which are of new leather. If your leather is worn or tired, have a look in an area which has had no wear such as, under a seat cushion.

As a rule, leather in cars and the majority of leather used on furniture is top finished. But . . . if in doubt, always ASK.
