Regularly Cleaning Your Car Leather Will Keep It In Top Condition!
If you are not regularly cleaning your car leather, it will quickly deteriorate, and cost you a fortune in restoration and in the worst case …reupholstering
If your car has leather upholstery, then you will almost certainly be interested in keeping in pristine condition. When leather is new, it looks and feels ... very classy!
But, after a few months of use, it somehow seems to loose some it's appeal. Its natural sheen disappears, dirt gets stuck in the grain, greasy smudges start to appear and the qualities your leather had when you first bought your car ... are gone!
Leather Maintenance Is A Mystery To Most!
Most owners of car leather are not sure what to do when it comes to cleaning leather. After all, the last thing they want to do is use the wrong products and run the risk of ruining their leather. So, it's not surprising when they typically resort to doing one of two things:
- Don't Do Any Cleaning and allow the dirt and grime to become embedded in the leather finish ... this will prematurely age your leather
- Use Household Cleaners and other chemicals which can dramatically accelerate the deterioration of your leather
I doubt very much that either of the above appeals to you so, to give you a better understanding of the leather in your car, here are a few important things you should know:
Leather Is Similar To Human Skin!
Now, this may come as a bit of a surprise but ... think about it! The leather in your car is made from cow hide ... cow hide is the skin from a cow.
Cow hide has very similar qualities to human skin: it's flexible, it’s porous and it needs a moisture content to keep it supple and in good condition.
People spend a lot of time and money taking care of their skin.
So, what would happen to your skin if you decided not to wash, or take a shower for about a year? Doesn't bear thinking about does it!
So, it's not hard to figure out that if you apply products which are NOT compatible with leather, then, just like your skin, these will soak in and cause the leather to age and wear out prematurely.
